Uhuru Academy Online: Growing Across Borders

Uhuru Academy Online has gotten off to a tremendous start for the 2025/2026 school year! We're thrilled to welcome back returning students, along with new families joining our virtual community, including students from Arizona and Arkansas who are utilizing School Choice funding to access our African-centered curriculum. This growing geographic diversity demonstrates the increasing demand for culturally responsive education that transcends state boundaries.

We're building on the momentum of an exceptional 2024/2025 school year that saw us graduate 8 seniors and celebrate the successful promotion of 100% of our student body. Our graduation and promotion celebration was held at the beautiful Sunchild Farms in Atlanta, Georgia, owned and operated by UA Online parent and Mizizi instructor Iasia Sweeting.

Students traveled from across the country to attend, and remarkably, one of our graduates, Ama Kambon, flew in all the way from Ghana to be part of the celebration! For many of our students, this was their first opportunity to meet their classmates and teachers face-to-face, making it an unforgettable experience that strengthened bonds formed through screens into lasting connections.
